CELSI presented its research on just transition in the metal and energy industries at the TURI conference

Nov. 5, 2024

The 16th annual conference of the Trade Union Related Research Institutes (TURI) network took place in Athens, from 4 to 5 October.

This year, the conference of the TURI network, where CELSI is an associated member, was hosted by the European Trade Union Institute, in cooperation with the Koinoniko Polykentro – the Institute of the Greek Civil Service Confederation (ADEDY) and the Labour Institute of the Greek General Confederation of Labour (INE/GSEE).

The first day, opened by ETUI General Director Andrew Watt, focused on Greece’s current challenges and future prospects against the backdrop of austerity and the urgency of climate change.

On the second day, CELSI senior researcher Monika Martišková joined Michael Ertl (AK Wien) and Bela Galgoczi (ETUI) for a session on "The New Green Industrial Deal and the Future of European Industry between Competition and Sustainability."

Monika was presenting the findings of two recent successful research projects, both examining the role of collective bargaining in fostering a just transition: BARMETAL (in the metal industry) and REJEnerAXion (in the energy sector).

Research results are available here: https://www.celsi.sk/en/barmetal/ and here: https://www.celsi.sk/en/rejeneraxion/
